File Organiser
Sort folders by type, date, or extension.
Open toolPractical file utilities that tidy, sort, and organize what lives on your device — running privately in your browser.
Downloads and desktop folders pile up fast. The SmartFiles file organiser scans the folder you choose and groups everything into clean subfolders by category, extension, or date — with a dry-run preview that shows exactly what will move before anything happens.
Everything runs locally in your browser using the File System Access API, so your files, names, and contents never leave your device. It is free, needs no account, and never deletes anything — duplicates are simply separated for you to review.
Sorting is only half of the job, which is why the organiser also reports what it finds: how many files share the same name, how much space the duplicates occupy, and which folders hold the most clutter. That makes it easy to decide what to keep before you reorganise anything.
Because the tool operates on folders you explicitly grant access to, it works equally well on a Downloads folder full of installers, a photo library from the last few years, or an old project directory you have not opened in months. Results are shown as a plan, not an action, so nothing changes until you confirm it.
